Regular servicing will improve your bike's performance and ensure the longest life for your componentry.
The following are our 3 levels of bicycle services. It is always best to book your bike in for any of these services if you want it to be in the shop for the shortest possible time. It is a great idea to have a service done (with your race wheels too) if you are preparing for a big race, all the training in the world won't help if you get a mechanical, so limit those chances by being well prepared. (Don't leave this service until the last minute, a week before is the best.)

Planet Cycles uses only biodegradable degreaser or recycled degreasers on all services and we use the minimum possible amount of water.

All degreasers, lubricants and the associated disposal charges are included in the service price.

New prices effective 1st September, 2007-

BASIC SERVICE - $69

(Approximately 75 minutes)

• Check bottom bracket bearings and cups
• Check and adjust gears
• Check and adjust brakes and brake pads
• True minor wheel buckles
• Check and adjust headset
• Check and tighten -
  • handlebars and stem
  • seat post and saddle
  • cranks and pedals
  • wheel nuts, quick release mechanisms and hub cones
• Check and lubricate chain
• Secure accessories
• Check tyre pressure and inflate if required

(this type of service Planet recommends every 3 - 6 months)

GENERAL SERVICE - $99

(Approximately 120 minutes)

Includes Basic Service as above PLUS -

• Degrease and re-lube drive train
• Clean bike
• Check and tighten bottom bracket
• Re-grease rear swing arm
• Check and lubricate all cables where necessary

You may also include -

• Remove and regrease bottom bracket add $20
• Service front suspension forks add $60
• Regrease rear swing arm on full suspension mountain bikes add $30

(this type of service Planet recommends every 6-12 months)

FULL SERVICE - $169

                                            (Approximately 210 minutes)

                          or - $199 Full Suspension Mountain Bikes

                                             (Approximately 240 minutes)

Includes General Service as above PLUS -

• Lubricate ALL gear and brake cables
• Remove and regrease bottom bracket
• Dismantle and regrease hubs
• Dismantle and regrease headset

You may also include -

• Service front suspension forks $60

DRIVETRAIN DEGREASE, RE-LUBE and ADJUST GEARS - $45

BIKE WASH - $20
