CANNONDALE
Handmade in the USA, the Cannondale range is huge and varied, the company has fairly recently been spending lots of money on R&D of off-road motorcycles and the offshoot to the bicycle range in strength, lightness and sheer riding pleasure are obvious with your first test-ride. Their huge international range includes cyclocross, multisport aero, tandem, touring, road suspension and very schmick conventional road models. Of particular interest to the girls will be the R2000, R800 and R500 FEMININE models with CAAD5 of CAAD4 frames boasting frame geometry specially crafted for the proportions of most women. TREK
Who will ever forget the awe-inspiring performances of Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France after his battle with cancer? Everyone in the western world must have been faced with some image of Lance on his US Postal Services team issue 5900 USPS Team Superlight OCLV Carbon framed bike. ORBEA
Unlike most European manufacturers, ORBEA offer a lifetime warranty on the frame (to the original buyer). At the top of the range are their top of the line models with the ORCA fibre frame. A long stint of R & D into composite fibres has yielded this EPOXY and aerospace T7000S Carbon Fibre combination which boasts reliability, rigidity and comfort. The ORCA-TDF is a great example with its brilliant monocoque frame, Campagnolo Record componentry and Campagnolo Hyperon wheelset. The RACING - REPLICA 1 is an example of the "Starship & ZACCS 100%" Aluminium 6000 frame.
