| Gary
Fisher is credited as "inventing" mountainbiking. He and
a bunch of mates modified old bikes, called them Klunkers and had
a ball crashing their way down Mt Tam. His first Mountainbike was
built in 1974. Fisher have been building mountain bikes for over
25 years in the US and are still at the forefront of the sport.
Always challenging design,
Gary Fisher has embraced 29ers - he didn't invent them but has produced
more than anyone on Earth and currently has nine different models.
The theory is that the bigger wheels make the lumps you ride over
less significant and they are a blast to ride! Test-ride the Platinum
Series 6066 butted and hydroformed aluminium XCALIBER (above, right)
with its G2 geometry and 80mm of travel and be converted to the
fastest growing segment of the MTB world - 29ers!
The SUPERCALIBER (below,
right) also uses Genesis 2.0 or G2 geometry for improved low-speed
handling which doesn't affect the high speed stability or climbing
characteristics of the classic Fisher Hi Fi cross-country machine. The
Fox F100 RL fork provides 100mm of travel to the 6066 Aluminium
mainframe with OCLV carbon chainstay and seatstay and the result
is a cross-country ride that will have you at the head of the pack.
The GENESISTERS women's
range will help beginner gain confidence and the experienced rider
increase speed and technical ability. The geometry provides improved
climbing and safer, more confident descents by focussing the
weight over the back wheel.
